Our shop, eclectica, was born from a shared passion for unique and beautiful clothing and accessories.

Our philosophy at eclectica is to source gorgeous fashion, accessories and lifestyle products from around the world which range in price from the everyday essential to the decadent treat.

Every brand is tried and tested by us first and you'll often see us wearing items from brands which we've loved enough to buy for ourselves.

We try to specialise in unique brands which are high-quality and are backed by manufacturers who have the same passion for customers as eclectica itself.

Jodie from eclectica

jodie

After spending 20 years in London's creative publishing industry working with photographers to create the perfect look, I moved to Ludlow in 2013 for a richer community life. In the past I've run a personal shopping and styling consultancy, and I'm a passionate believer that little treats can make a girl feel more confident about herself.

I am a Shropshire girl through and through having been brought up on Clee Hill. I moved away at 19 but the elastic pull that seems to bring people back here brought me back before 30 to make my home on the hill and raise my kids in the countryside.

Like the name of our shop I've had an eclectic range of jobs; from travel agent, teacher of English and briefly a bank clerk!

When Jodie asked me whether I would consider running a shop with her I was elated. I started out in retail and may well end my working life in it. Becoming self-employed fulfills a life ambition - doing it at 50 scares me silly but at least I know I'm still alive! Bring it on!!

56 Mill Street is a Grade-2 listed building directly adjoining the Tudor Castle Lodge and next to the historic Castle.

eclectica occupies the ground floor of this amazing old building and features wood-panelled walls, wobbly original floorboards and a sun-trapping courtyard where we will hold summer events.

take your time

If you are planning a whole day trip to Ludlow, there is a park-and-ride bus from the nearby Eco Park at SY8 1ES.

Parking in town is plentiful with pay-and-display car parks just off the market square, at Station Drive and Lower Galdeford. And there is a loading bay opposite the store for pre-arranged pick-ups.
